Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge and SPARK, the education foundation for Prince William County Public Schools, hosted the 29th Annual Tee Off for Education Golf Classic on August 5.

Funds raised during the tournament support public education in Prince William County, specifically the SPARK Grants Program. The continued support of the SPARK Grants Program allows PWCS to focus on the four commitments of Learning and Achievement for All, Positive Climate and Culture, Family and Community Engagement, and Organizational Coherence. This year, the Golf Classic garnered over $72,000 towards this program.

Through its Grants Program, the foundation invests in programs that directly and measurably impact student achievement. These programs may impact a classroom, team of teachers, individual school, or the entire School Division. Grants are awarded up to $5,000 and are reviewed monthly by a panel of educators and business leaders in the community.
